Motor Cargo hold

Gee, what's in that big box I wonder. Suddenly not that interesting anymore when there is a big crate around it. :P Why the empty space in the middle of the hold? Well, those who have seen the WIP concept drawing I posted here a while back may know why.Motor Cargo hold

Here is a look through the No.3 cargo hatch. On the opposite end you can see the mail hold. Left of this hatch is the door into the species room. On the real ship, this door was barricaded due to it's valuable content stored inside.See across hatch No.3

Mail hold change

Alright, this goes on record for one of the stupidest mistakes I made. Not sure how, but I managed to completely miss the upper level of the mail hold which contains the post office. The letter cabinets weren't even located in the hold itself but only inside the post office. So positioning the many letters into different spots turns out to be a complete waste of time since the post office doesn't use that many cabinets. I also stand corrected about the hoist. It's used to transfer the mail bags between the two rooms, not across the hold, so I needed to tweak that one a little bit as well and cut a hole in the ceiling. The hoist does make more sense now. The huge rivets in the hole will be changed. Mail hold change

With more holds being added you can get a sense of how deep these cargo hatches were. Other than the top level of the post office with adjoining 1st class baggage space, all forward cargo holds are finished!Forward holds finished

Hiding all the metal plating reveals the "bones" of the ship. Quite an impressive sight and a satisfying result to all the hours spent positioning every single frame by hand. Yes, there was no automatic duplicating involved.Frame view - forward cargo holds

Sector creation 1st class lounge

Going up back at the first class lounge. It's time to finally put this area within a sector as well. And that is easier said than done. There are so many issues I constantly come across while learning this... A normal person would have thrown his computer with terminal velocity out of his window. Slowly but surely though, I'm making progress. Big thanks to Djbozkosz for learning me how to do this and creating the tool for it! Why the green light? I just needed some obvious looking color to see if the lights were working. No worries, the disco will be replaced with soothing flame colored lights.Sector creation 1st class lounge

New textures for Lounge

While the lounge is being finished ingame, I was allowed to use a bunch of high quality photos from Olympic's lounge as it's located today at the White Swan hotel in Alnwick. These look way better on the model than the previous ones that I made before. Special thanks to Damien Wright for providing the photos he made. I'm thankful to those people who preserved this interior when Olympic got scrapped. It's amazing to be able to use high res and coloured images of the very same interior shown on +100 year old black and white photos. And a beautiful interior that is.New textures for Lounge

Finally, after loads of crashes, bluescreens, corrupted models and what not else my PC was finally working as it should this weekend. I'm happy to say that the 1st class lounge has been completely done. Sectors, collisions, lights, sounds, doors, everything is placed and working. I've also upscaled the furniture a little bit and improved the texture. It was too small and dull before.Lounge ingame complete

Reading and Writing room finished ingame

And another area fully implemented, the reading and writing room. I have made some changes to the model to correct some stuff I wasn't satisfied with. For example, the ceiling now has ornaments textured onto it. The mirror above the fireplace has been remodelled and now has a reflection of the room, the carpet has been changed to a better color and some other minor bugs have been fixed. Overall I think this looks way better opposed to how it once looked before without the fixes and sectors.Reading and Writing room finished ingame
